Marielena Jácome attained her B.F.A. Degree in Dance Performance at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL and earned her M.F.A. Degree in Choreography and Performance at Arizona State University. She is currently a Roster Artist through the Arizona Commission on the Arts where she has been awarded a professional study grant to study in Spain.  She has been a dancer for Calo Flamenco under the direction of Martín Gaxiola since June of 2003.  She has guest performed in the World Premiere of Pangean Orchestra at Symphony Hall and she tours nationally with both Calo Flamenco and The Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble.
